SIXMILEBRIDGE/KILMURRY TAKE GOLD & SILVER U10
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Boys U10 Indoor Soccer competitions were held on Saturday 8th April in Corofin GAA Hall. Ten teams competed. It was co ordinated by Flan Brennan & his team of assistants. The standard was extremely high with some very close matches with the two Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry teams fighting it out for the honour to represent their county in the Munster finals in July.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Indoor Soccer competitions for Girls U13 and U10 were held on the weekend of 22/23 April in Corofin GAA Hall co ordinated by Flan Brennan & his many helpers. Many thanks to all those involved and to the excellent referees who helped make this a fantastic Community Games event.
The munstergroup Insurance Clare Community Games indoor soccer competition took place in St. Flannan's College, Ennis on Sat 24th Jan (Girls U10/U13), Sun 25th Jan (Boys U10) and Sat 31st Jan (Boys U13). There was an excellent turnout and a great way to kick the Community Games year off - so Well done to all involved especially Flan Brennan and his team. Full results are below.
U13 Girls Results
The first competition of the new season of St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games took place in Corofin Hall on Saturday 9th Jan. It was the first of the Indoor Soccer competitions and involved 14 U13 teams from across the county. The standard of competition was extremely high with all teams vying for the chance to represent Clare in the Munster finals in July. It was co-ordinated as usual by Flan Brennan and his team of referees.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Boys U10 & U13 Indoor Soccer competitions came to a conclusion last weekend, 24/25 February. Due to the large volume of entries the competition took three days to run off. The standard was extremely high with a number of the matches going to extra time & penalty shoe out. It was coordinated by Flan Brennan with assistance from Mark Nestor in Corofin GAA Hall. Ballynacally/Lissycasey won the double they now have the honour to represent Clare in the Munster Finals on 21st April in U.L.
In the U10 semi finals Ballynacally/Lissycasey (Maroon) met Moylussa (1). These were very evenly matched with the Ballynacally/Lissycasey side edgeing ahead to win 6 – 4. Cooraclare/Cree met Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry but the Bridge boys proved to be the stronger side winning 10 – 4. Moylussa & Cooraclare/Cree played off for the Bronze medals Moylussa won 7 – 2. The finals was between last years winners Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry and Ballynacally/Lissycasey. The Bridge boys had to be satisfied to finish as runners up on a score 4 – 1.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Indoor Soccer competitions for U10 & U13 Girls took place over the weekend in Corofin GAA Hall. The Co Ordinator was Flan Brennan assisted by Mark Nestor and a number of referees. The U13 competition was on Saturday with the U10's on Sunday. The winning team in each will go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals to be held in U.L. on 21st April.
A total of 15 teams took part in the St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games U10 Boys indoor soccer competition on Saturday 23rd February. Huge thanks to event coordinators Flan Brennan and Mark Nestor and their team of volunteers.
Corofin/Kilnaboy narrowly defeated Cree/Cooraclare (Navy team) 5-3 in the first semi-final and Newmarket (A team) won the second semi-final 3-2 against Doora/Barefield.
Corofin/Kilnaboy came out winners 6-3 against Doora/Barefield in the final whilst Newmarket (A) overcame Cree/Cooraclare (Navy) 7-4 in the 3rd/4th playoff. So well done to Corofin/Kilnaboy who now go on to represent Clare in the Munster Finals in Tralee.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Indoor Soccer for girls U10 was held on Saturday 3rd March in Corofin GAA Hall. Five teams participated. In the preliminary round Clarecastle/Ballyea beat Doora/Barefield by 2-1. The semi final Cooraclare/Cree beat Moylussa 4-1 while Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry beat Clarecastle/Ballyea 3-2 on Penalties after finishing 0-0 at full time. Clarecastle/Ballyea beat Moylussa for the Bronze medals. The finals was a great match with the much stronger Cooraclare/Cree girls proving much too strong for Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry. Cooraclare/Cree now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals in Tralee in April. Many thanks to Flan Brennan, Mark Nestor and their assistants who ensured the event ran smoothly.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games U13 boys competitions were continued on Saaturday in Corofin Hall. The quarter finals Moylussa Blue peat Broadford/Kilbane/Kilbane on penalty kicks 3-1. Cooraclare/Cree Navy beat Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly 4-0 while Kilmurry McMahon/ Labbasheeda beat Moylussa Red 4-2, Ballynacally/Lissycasey Maroon beat Cooraclare/ Cree Blue 5-1.
The Semi Finals Kilmurry McMahon/Labbasheeda and Cooraclare Navy were 1-1 at full time the Kilmurry McMahon side won 4-1 on penalties. Ballynacally/Lissycasey Maroon beat Moylussa Blue 5-1.Moylussa pipped Cooraclare/Cree by 1 point for the bronze medals 6-5.
The final was a hard fought match between Ballynacally/Lissycasey and Kilmurry McMahon with the Ballynacally side winning out in the end on 5-3.
The Ballynacally/Lissycasey boys now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster Finals.

The U13 Girls Indoor Soccer competitions took place on Sunday 3rd March in Corofin GAA Hall. Eight teams participated. The standard was very high with some very exciting matches. The co Ordinator was Flan Brennan with his team of assistants.
In the Quarter Finals: Ballynacally/Lissycasey beat Moylussa 4-2, Corofin/Kilnaboy (Red) beat Lisdoonvarna/ Doolin/Kilfenora/Kilshanny 4-3 on sudden death penalties after finishing 1-1 on full time, Doora/Barefield were much too strong for Broadford/Kilbane/Kilmore wonning 5-0,Inch/ Kilmaley/Connolly beat Corofin/Kilnaboy (White) 3-1.
Whilst in the Semi Finals: Doora/Barefield beat Ballynacally/Lissycasey 2-0, Corofin/Kilnaboy (Red) beat Inch/ Kilmaley/Connolly 5-0. Ballynacally won Bronze from Inch.
The final was a very exciting match between Doora/Bare and Corofin/Kilnaboy (Red) with Doora/Barefield winning gold and the honour to represent Clare in the Munster Finals in Tralee in April.
