Futsal 2017

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Futsal competitions for both girls & boys U13 & U15 were held in Lisdoonvarna Astro Turf on 14th & 15th January under the coordination of Flan Brennan. On Saturday it was the girls competitions. The standard in these competitions were high with some very good matches. The Gold medals in each now go forward to represent Clare in the Mnster Finals in U.L. on Sunday 2nd April.

In the Girls U13 competitions Clarecastle/Ballyea beat Ennis St Johns in First Round. In Semi Finals Doora/Barefield (Maroon) beat Lisdoonvarna/Doolin/Kilshanny/Kilfenora 2 – 1 while Clarecastle/Ballyea beat Inch/ Connolly/Kilmaley 7 – 1. Lisdonvarna/D/K/K. beat Inch/C/K 2 – 1 for the Bronze medals. The Final was a very exciting affair between Dora/Barefield (Maroon) and Clarecastle/Ballyea with the full time score 1 – 1 but Clarecastle/Ballyea girls came out on top after extra time winning 3 – 2 on penalties.

The U13 Girls Futsal Competition was a very engaging and entertaining affair. Clarecastle/Ballyea overcame St.Johns of Ennis, and Connolly to meet Doora/Barefield in the final. The final was a gripping encounter, with Doora/Barefield going ahead twice, only for Clarecastle/Ballyea to draw level, and force the game to a penalty sudden death finish. Hanah Mai Neylon took the goalkeeping duty, and resolved the matter, with some fine saves. Clarecastle/Ballyea U15 Futsal girls put up a solid performance against Lisdoonvarna, to get silver in the final.

In the U15 competition in the QuarterFinal Lisdoonvarna/Doolin/Kilshanny/Kilfenora beat Ennis St Johns “A” 4 – 0. Ennis St Johns “B” beat Inch/ Connolly/Kilmaley 3 – 0. Claarecastle/Ballyea & Doora/Barefield both had Byes. Semi Finals – Lisdoonvarna/D/K/K. Beat Doora/Barefield 3 – 2 & Clarecastle/Ballyea beat Ennis St Johns “B” 3 – 2.
Ennis St Johns “B” won the Bronze medals from Doora/Barefield on a score of 3 – 0. In the final Lisdoonvarna/D/K/K. beat Clarecastle/Ballyea 3 – 0 to win the gold medals.

In the U13 boys competition In the preliminary rounds Dora/Barefield beat Lissycasey (Maroon) & Killaloe beat Corofin (White). In the Quarter Finals Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry beat Lisdonvarna/Doolin/ Kilshanny/ Kilfenora 4 – 2. Corofin (Red) beat Inch/Connolly/Kilmaley (Green) 3 - 1. Lissycasey (Black) beat Inch/Connolly/Kilmaley (White) 4 – 1. Killaloe beat Doora/Barefield 1 – 0. In the Semi finals Sixmmilebridge/Kilmurry beat Corofin (Red) 1 – 0 & Lissycasey (black) beat Killaloe 2 – 1. Killaloe beat Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry for the Bronze medals. In the final Lissycasey (Black) overcame Corofin (Red) 2 – 0 for the Gold medals.

In the Boys U15 competition Quarter Finals Doora/Barefield (Maroon) beat Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry 3 – 2 & Lissycasey eat Killaloe 4 – 1 while Lisdoonvarna/ Doolin/ Kilshanny/Kilfenora & Ennis St Johns had a bye. In the Semi finals Lissycasey beat Doora/Barefield (Maroon) 1 – 0 & Lisdoonvarna/D/K/K. beat Ennis St Johns 2 – 0. Doora/Barefield beat Ennis St Johns 3 – 2 for the Bronze medals. Lisdoonvarna/D/K/K. won the Gold medals from Lissycasey on a score of 2 – 1. 

U13 Girls Futsal
