Basketball 2015

The munstergroup Insurance Clare Community Games Girls & Boys U-16 Basketball competitions took place over the weekend of 7/8 February. Results below.

U16 Girls Results

Girls basketball was played on Saturday morning last in St. Flannans with two thrilling games, Ennistymon/lahinch/Liscannor won against Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly taking them into a closely fought final with Quin/Clooney coming out winners with a final score of 32-17. Quin/Clooney now go on to represent Clare in the Munster finals in U.L. on 4th July.

  1. Quin/Clooney - Ciara O'Reilly, Mary Conneally, Michelle Meers, Rachel Begg, Briana Fennell, Hannah Conneally & Rachel McEvoy.
  2. Ennistymon/Lahinch/Liscannor - Edwina Vaughan, Aoibhan Fahy, Eilbhis O'Looney, Karen Hillary, Aine Howley, Brona Galvin Byrne & Niamh Heath.
  3. Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly - Leone Grace, Chloe Neylon, Andrea O'Brien, Emily Cahill, Eilis Cahill, Megan White & Jennifer Griffen.

U16 Boys Results

U16 Boys basketball competition was played on Sunday morning last in St Flannans with four very exciting games. Cooraclare/Cree were winners of the first game with a very convincing win over Ballynacally/Lissycasey. The second game was a much closer encounter between Ennistymon/Lahinch/Liscannor and Quin/Clooney with the Ennistymon side winning 21- 16. In the 3rd & 4th place playoff we had a very tight game with both teams level at the final whistle leading to extra time with Ballynacally/Lissycasey snatching a basket in the final seconds with the final score 14 - 12. We had a thrilling final between Cooraclare/Cree & Ennistymon/Lahinch/Liscannor which was a fairly even game for the first two quarters but then Cooraclare/Cree pulled away to win 26 - 14. Cooraclare/Cree now go on to represent Clare in the Munster finals in July.

  2. Ennistymon/Lahinch/Liscannor - Mikey Rynne, Calium Burke, Cian Fahy, Alan Rynne, Alex Higgins, Darragh Cuddihy, Ronan O'Connell, Charles Higgins & Cillian Devitt.
  3. Ballynacally/Lissycasey - Cormac Reidy, Luke McMahon, Darren Deveraux, Joe Conlan, Cian Quinlivan, Martin Conlan & Cian Meaney.
  4. Quin/Clooney - Ronan Wall, Dawid Glowski, Paul Hogan, Anthony O'Donnell, Ralph Collins, Ulick O'Sullivan, Oisin Egan, Adam Miniter, Kevin Reynolds & Ben O'Donnell.
