Munster Finals Info Sept 2021

munster athletics finals - 18 sept

  • Venue: Munster Technology University track, Cork.
  • Top two track participants from County finals go through to this Munster regional athletics competition.
  • The top two participants from these Regional finals then go through to the National finals in Carlow on 25/26 September.
  • NOTE: In the field events, the top one participant from each County goes through directly to the National finals in Carlow on 25/26 September.
  • Tack events in Cork cost €8 with adult admission of €10.  These will be pre-paid by parents/guardians online. Details as follows: -
  • Ticket Sales for the 18th September Athletics Finals in MTU Cork Athletics Track are on sale from today.
  • Parents can purchase tickets now: ONLINE TICKET LINK. There are four ticket options :
  • 1 adult and 1 participant; 2 adults and 1 participant; 1 adult and 2 participants or 2 adults and 2 participants
  • All the information in relation to the MTU Event on Saturday for Region 4 including the schedule is available here: https://www.communitygames.ie/news/region-4-mtu-sports-track-18th-september
  • Similarly for the National finals in Carlow, there is an entry fee of €12 per athlete and again adult admission of €10, paid in advance online as above.
  • For those who need County singlet tops for their athletes competing in Cork on 18th Sept, Liz Canny will be inside the Community Centre, Quin village on Monday 13th Sept, time 19:30-20:30. She will also be present at O'Sullivan Park, Ennis (beside the playground area on Thurs 16th, time 19:30-20:30. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A 5 EURO REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT TAKEN FOR EACH SINGLET.

The Community Games Munster Regional Finals for track events are taking place on Saturday 18th September in MTU Athletic Track in Cork. Clare will have a large number of participants who will be trying for the opportunity to represent Clare and Munster in the National Events which will be held in Carlow.

Munster Finals UL 2021

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games were represented well by eight teams in the Munster Finals which were held in U.L. on Saturday last 11th September. The standard in some of the competitions was extremely high with some fantastic talent and skills on display. All the Clare teams did themselves and their area and county proud. Clare won Gold in two events and silver in two events with some of the other unlucky not to progress to their finals. Newmarket – on – Fergus won the boys U12 Soccer while the U12 girls from Ballynacally/Lissycasey won their final. Silver was won by Ballynacally/Lissycasey U10 gaelic football and U14 Tag Rugby from Quin/Clooney. The winners now go on to represent Munster in the All Ireland series on the 9th/10th of October in UL.

Munster Finals April 2017

The Aldi Munster Community Games Finals of Team events were held on Sunday 2nd April in U.L. Campus. They were hosted by Limerick Community Games. St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games were represented by 25 teams. All teams put up a brilliant display of talent & sportsmanship. Clare teams brought home 4 Golds & 7 Silvers while other teams were defeated by the narrowest of margins some after extra time. The first success of the day came when Ennis St Johns Girls U15 Soccer team overcame Cashel of Tipperary in the final after extra time with a 1-0 score. Ennis St Johns also won the Chess U13 & U16 with both teams winning in style. The U13 beat the Kerry side of Spa/Fenit/Barrow in the semi final & Kilfinane of Limerick in the Final. Their coach John Cassidy said that some of these children are only 8 & 9 year olds but already hold u8 & u10 Munster championships. The U16 team beat Annascaul/Camp/Inch of Kerry in Semi final & Kilfinane of Limerick in final. The Quin/Clooney U14 Tag Rugby team had to go to extra time & sudden death to take the gold medals. They beat Cashel of Tipperary in semi final & Ardfert/Kilmoyley of Kerry in the final. The Quin/Clooney U11 Tag Rugby were only pipped for gold after extra time in final. All gold winners will represent Clare & Munster in the National finals in Abbottstown on 6th May.

Munster Finals July 2017

St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games were represented by 14 teams in the Aldi Munster Community Games finals in U.L. on Saturday 1st July hosted by Limerick. Teams took part in Camogie, Gaelic Football, Hurling, Indoor Soccer, Rounders, Skittles & Outdoor Soccer. All teams gave of their best but some were unlucky not to progress to finals. The Skittles teams were unlucky to miss out on gold medals with some of their matches finishing a draw the first time the coordinator had seen such close competitions but Tipperary pipped Clare for all three.

Munster Finals April 2019

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games had almost 20 teams participating in the Munster Community Finals in Tralee on Sat 20th April.  The Ennis St John's Chess Teams had great success, securing Gold medals and a place in the National Finals in UL in May under coach John Cassidy.

  • U13 Ennis St John's Team: Egor Galyants, James Rochford, Najib Haq, Dylan Rush, Leo Liu, Conall McCarthy, Odhran Murphy.
  • U16 Ennis St John's Team: Naem Haq, Diarmuid Kilroy, Ronan Kilroy, Ronan Marren, Sam Montwill, Dylan Murphy, Cian Pyne.

 

  • Badminton: Mountshannon/Whitegate: Met Cork in Semi Final. Boys team won Silver.
  • Basketball U11 – Clare V Limerick in Semi Final: Kilrush won Silver.
  • Basketball U13 boys – Clare V Tipperary in S/F: Cooraclare/Cree.
  • Basketball U16 boys – Clare V Tipperary in S/F: Doora/Barefield.
  • Basketball U16 Girls – Clare V Kerry in S/F: Doora/Barefield.
  • Chess U13 – Clare V Cork or Limerick in S/F: Ennis St John's won Gold.
  • Chess U16 – Clare V Limerick in S/F: Ennis St John's won Gold.
