CLARE COMMUNITY GAMES

National Finals Aug 2023

St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games did extremely well in the Munster Regional Athletics Track Finals in John O’Sullivan Park, Ennis on Sunday 20th August. Over 100 Clare competitors put in a great effort for the opportunity to represent Clare and Munster in the National Finals in Carlow this Saturday 26th August. Each event had four competitors from five counties. The standard was extremely high. Forty-one participants from across the county were honoured with a place in the National Finals. The President of St Francis Union Clare Community Games Mrs Cecilia O’Sullivan was in attendance for the presentation of medals to some of the successful candidates. The County Chairman Graham Meakins also presented medals. Clare will also have twenty six participants in individual Field events and nine Relays teams who qualified directly from the County Athletics finals earlier in the summer.

In addition, the U14 Girls Gaelic Football team from Ballynacally-Lissycasey and the U11 Hurling team from Crusheen-Ballinruan-Tubber are also competing in the National Finals in Kilkenny on Sunday 27th August.

Please see National Community Games website for more info and to purchase tickets. Best of luck to all participants who are listed below.
