The MUNSTERGROUP Clare Community Games U-13 Choir competition was held on Fri 15th March in Sixmilebridge GAA Hall.  The co-ordinator was Dolores O’Loughlin.  Four teams took part.  The standard was extremely high and the judges Brid Dillon, Ethel Tuohy & Mary Finnegan had a difficult task deciding the winners.  The M.C. Kevin O’Loughlin introduced each team and what they would sing.  First on stage was Parteen with their rendition of “This song is for the Children” and “Beig aonach Amarach”.  Clarecastle/Ballyea sang “Close to you”,  “This Song is for the  Children” & “Wakati Wa A Mani”.  Shannon were 3rd up with “Rhythm of Life”, “The Lord bless you & keep you” and “Good morning Baltimore”.  The final group on stage were Newmarket-on-Fergus with their version of “Da do Run Run”, “Oh won’t you sit down” & “Don’t worry be happy”.  Clarecastle/Ballyea are the County champions and now go on to represent Clare in the National finals in Athlone weekend May 26th.

Choir 2022

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Talent and Choir Competitions were held on Sat 18th June in Quin Hall. It was coordinated by Carol O’Neill with Jacinta Mc Evoy on Registration. While the numbers were down on what was the norm before Covid it had quality in abundance which made the job of the Judges Emer and Melessa very difficult. The first place in each now go forward to represent Clare in the National Finals in Carlow in August. It was thanks to Quin Hall and everyone who helped out on the day that this competition ran off so well.
