The Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games Gaelic Football events took place over the weekend. Kilmihill won the U12 Girls competition in Lissycasey on Friday 13 May and Doora/Barefield won the U10 Boys competition in Quin on Sunday 15th May. The Munstergroup Clare Community Games Gaelic Football Competition for Girls U-12 were held on Fri 31st May in Lissycasey in glorious sunshine. It was co-ordinated by County vice chairman Kieran Harvey. The standard of competition was very high with Doora/Barefield coming out on top. The gold medal winners now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals in Tralee on 29th June.
The Under 10 munstergroup Clare Community Games Gaelic Football county finals took place on Saturday 18 Apr at the Kilmurry Ibrickane, GAA grounds. On a beautiful day in Pairc Naomh Mhuire Quilty it wasn't just the weather that set tempetures soaring it was the u10 Munstergroup Insurance Community Games Gaelic Football Finals that had everyone talking.All participants, managers and supporters had a really enjoyable morning. The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games U-10 Mixed Gaelic Football Competitions were held on Sun 17th April in Cooraclare. In the quarter finals Cooraclare/Cree defeated Shannon while Kilmurry Ibrickane beat Doora/Barefield White, Doora/Barefield Maroon had a bye to semi final where they defeated Kilmihil. Cooraclare/Cree defeated Kilmurry Ibrickane in the 2nd semi final. The final was a very exciting game between Cooraclare/Cree and Doora/Barefield Maroon in which Cooraclare/Cree were victorious and now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster Finals.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games U14 Girls Gaelic Football competitions were held on Sat May 19th in glorious sunshine in Gurteen. It was coordinated by Sean Lenihan with his team of referees. In the semi finals Doora/Barefield met Clarecastle/Ballyea and Lisdoonvarna/Doolin/Kilfenora/Kilshanny met Quin/Clooney. Doora/Barefield & Quin/Clooney progressed to the final while Lisdoonvarna/Doolin/Kilfenora/Kilshanny and Clarecastle/Ballyea met in the 3rd & 4th place playoff. After two very competitive matches Quin/Clooney emerged victorious taking the gold by beating Doora/Barefield by just 1pt on a score 0-09 to 1-05. They now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals in U.L. In July. In the play off both teams scored highly but Clarecastle/Ballyea edged ahead to take the bronze on a score of 7-10 to 6-03. The medals were presented by the fantastic referees Martin Nolan & Frank Culliton. Clare Community Games thanks sincerely the Doora/Barefield club for making their pitches and dressing rooms available for the day.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games U12 and U14 Girls Gaelic Football competitions were held on Sat 21st August at the Kilrush Shamrock Football field. Mike Reid co-ordinated a round robin tournament for both age categories as there were three teams competing in each competition. Ballynacally/Lissycasey came out winners of both U12 and U14 events and they will go forward to represent Clare in the Munster Team events on 11th Sept.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games U12 girls Gaelic Football competitions took place on Sunday 30th April in Clooney GAA pitch. It was coordinatd by Kieran Harvey & Martha Deegan. The standard was high with Doora Barefield coming out as winners and the honour to represent Clare in the Munster Finals in U.L. on 1st July.
St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games had great results on Saturday 9th October at the National Finals in U.L. There were only two teams from Clare participating and they brought home a gold and a silver. Great credit is due to Ballynacally/Lissycasey U12 girls Gaelic Football who won gold and Newmarket-on-Fergus bous U2 Soccer who fought hard to bring home the silver.
The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Gaelic Football mixed U10 competitions were held on Monday 17th April in fantastic facilities in Coorclare GAA field. It was coordinated by Veroics Finucane assisted by Mairead McNamara & Marie O'Gorman with referees Noel Morrissey & Joe Garry. All ten teams participated which made for a great competition. The local team Cooraclare/Cree were the winners from Kilmurry Ibricane on a score 5 – 4 to 2 – 4. Cooraclare/Cree now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals in July in U.L.

The munstergroup Insurance U12 Girls Gaelic Football competition took place in Kilmihil on Thursday 14th May and the U14 competition took place on a misty evening on Thursday 21st May in Kilmurry Ibrickane GAA Grounds. Well done to Kilmihil (U12) and Kilmurry Ibrickane (U14) who represent Clare in the Munsters in July.
