Boys Outdoor Soccer 2017

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games boys U12 Soccer competitions were held during the week of 15th-19th May in the newly renamed Ennis Active John O'Sullivan Park at Lees Road. Nine teams took part. The standard was extremely high with some matches going to extra time & penalty shoot out. It was coordinated by Flan Brennan with his team of referees.

In the preliminary round Ballynacally/Lissycasey Black and Cratloe were nil all with at full time but but Ballynacally/Lissycasey black won 4-3 on penalties.

In the quarter finals Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly beat Ballynacally/Lissycasey Maroon 2-0. Doora/Barefield and Killaloe were 1-1 at full time Killaloe won 2-0 on sudden death penalties after extra time. Meelick/Coonagh beat Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry & Derg went down to Ballynacallt/Lissycasey Black 8-0.

In the semi finals Killaloe beat Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly 2-1 while Ballynacally/Lissycasey black beat Meelick/Coonagh 2-1.

Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly pipped Meelick/Coonagh for the Bronze medals on a score of 1-0.

The final was a very close nail biting game with both teams on no score at full time with Killaloe winning by the narrowest of margins after extra time & sudden death penalties score 2-1.

Killaloe now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals in U.L. in July.

Girls Outdoor Soccer 2017


The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games U12 Girls Outdoor Soccer competition took place on Sat 11th Feb in Lees Road, Ennis.

  1. Gold - Doora/Barefield
  2. Silver - Ennis, St. Johns
  3. Bronze - Clarecastle/Ballyea

National Team Finals - October 2021

St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games had great results on Saturday 9th October at the National Finals in U.L. There were only two teams from Clare participating and they brought home a gold and a silver. Great credit is due to Ballynacally/Lissycasey U12 girls Gaelic Football who won gold and Newmarket-on-Fergus bous U2 Soccer who fought hard to bring home the silver.

Outdoor Soccer 2019

Congratulations to all the Area's who participated in the Boy's & Girls Outdoor Soccer at John O'Sullivan Park, Lees Road, during the first week of June. Well done to the winners Corofin/ Kilnaboy girls who won the double in the girls Under 12 ( 7-a-side) and Under 15 (11-a-side) and to Sixmilebridge/ Kilmurry who were very impressive in winning the Boy's Under 12 competition. Best of luck to the winners, who go on to the Munster finals at Tralee on the 6th of July. Huge thanks once again to Flan Brennan and his team of helpers for coordinating this event once again.

Outdoor Soccer 2021

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games boys U12 Soccer competitions and girls U12 (7 a side) competitions were held during August in Newmarket on Fergus and CDSL grounds, Doora.

The girls competition was a straight final between Cratloe and neighbouring Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry. The girls from Cratloe won 3-1 and they now go forward to represent Clare in the upcoming Munster competition on 11th Sept in UL.

In the boys event preliminaries, Cratloe and Newmarket on Fergus drew 0-0 but Newmarket on Fergus won 3-2 on penalties; and Quin/Clooney beat Cooraclare 5-0.  Newmarket went on to defeat Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry 1-0 in the semi finals and Quin/Clooney overcame Tulla 3-0 - both Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry and Tulla got byes into the semis.   The final was closely contested and Newmarket on Fergus overcame Quin/Clooney 1-0 and they now advance to the Munster finals.

Soccer 2013

The Munstergroup Clare Community Games Outdoor Soccer competition took place during the week of 20-28th May in Lees Road, Ennis. As usual, the event was very well co-ordinated by Flan Brennan, Ennis St John's, with assistance during the week from referrees Martin Monaghan, John Greer, Trevor White, Frankie Coote, Tony McInerney & Dave McCarthy. The results from all three events are listed below. Good luck to all the finalists who will represent Clare in the Munster competition in Tralee on 29th June.

Soccer 2016

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Outdoor Soccer competitions were held during the week of 16-20 May. They were co-ordinated by Flan Brennan and his team of referees. In the boys u12 competition ten teams took part. In the preliminary rounds Ballynacally/Lissycasey beat Crusheen/Ballinruan/Tubber while Quin/Clooney beat Corofin/Kilnaboy. In the Quarter finals Bally6nacally/Lissycasey beat Newmarket-on-Fergus 3-1, Doora/Barefield (White) beat Quin/Clooney 2-0, Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry beat Doora/Barefield (Maroon) 4-2, Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly had a bye to semi-final. In the semi-finals Ballynacally/Lissyasey beat Doora/Barefield (White) 3-0 and Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry beat Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly 3-0. The finals was a very keenly contested affair with Ballynacally/Lissycasey overcoming the Sixmmilebridge/Kilmurry boys by 4-2 whilt Doora/Barefield took the bronze medals from Inch/Kilmaley/Connolly. Ballynacally/Lissycasey now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals in U.L. on July 2nd.

Soccer 2018

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Outdoor Soccer competitions for boys and girls U12 and girls U15 were held between 11-15th June in O'Sullivan Park, Lees Road. While the number of teams participating was low the standard was extremely high with some matches being decided after extra time and penalties. It was coordinated by Flan Brennan, with assistance from Mark Nestor, ably assisted by a team of referees. The first in each category now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster finals in July.
