Draughts 2016

The St. Francis Credit Union Clare Community Draughts Competition took place on Saturday 9th April in St Joseph’s Secondary School, Tulla. Many thanks to co-ordinator, Paul Caulfield; referee, Sean McGrath; all the Tulla Community Games committee and Score keepers David Meehan, Jack Noonan and Ethan Nugent. The standard in these competitions were extremely high any many of the matches went down to the final couple of games.

In the U-10 competition only three teams took part. Lissycasey/Ballynacally beat Tulla "2" to progress to the final where they lost to Tulla "1" 17 – 3.

In the U-12 competition six teams took part. In the first round Tulla "2" beat An Droichead on a count back after the match was tied & Ennis St John's beat Doora/Barefield Maroon. In the semi-finals Ennis St John's beat Tulla "1" and Tulla "2" beat Doora/Barefield White in a very tight match which went down to the last game. Tulla "1" won the bronze medals from Doora/Barefield White. In the final Ennis St. Johns defeated Tulla "2" by 15-5.

In the U-14 competition Ennis St John's defeated Tulla 13-7 after some extremely close games. Ennis St John's & Tulla will represent Clare in the Munster finals in U.L. on 2nd July. Many thanks to Paul Caulfield and his team for co-ordinating the event.

U-10 Results

1. Tulla "1" – Joey Huang, Cara Murphy, Jack O'Halloran, Finn Boyce, Ryan Hayes, Evan Byrnes, Daragh Walsh
2. Lisseycasey/Ballynacally – Thomas Faulknane, Eoin Griffin, Aidan Weaver, Ben Wragg, Ewen Wragg.
3. Tulla "2" – Sean Collins, Sophie Murphy, Sinead McMahon, Marc Walsh, Conor O'Brien, Maddison Noonon, Dylan Nugent, Conor Murphy.

U-12 Results

1. Ennis St John's – Ronan Marren, Evan White, Ben Salaka, Amilee Malice, Brian Kavanagh, Natalie Cheng
2. Tulla "2" – Darragh Donovan, Rhyse Noonan, Tadgh Floyd, Lauren Garvey, Hannah Foley.
3. Tulla "1" – Micheal Hayes, James Donnellan, Rhianne Ryan, Cathal Culloo, Cian Nugent.
4. Doora/Barefield White – Darragh McNulty, Matthew Conway, Dara Bohannon, Rory Lynam, Sam Power.

U-14 Results
