Girls Indoor Soccer 2017

The St Francis Credit Union Clare Community Games Indoor Soccer competitions for Girls U13 and U10 were held on the weekend of 22/23 April in Corofin GAA Hall co ordinated by Flan Brennan & his many helpers. Many thanks to all those involved and to the excellent referees who helped make this a fantastic Community Games event.

An Droichead came out winner and will now go forward to represent Clare in the Munster Finals on July 1st in U.L. hosted by Limerick. In the Preliminary round Corofin/Kilnaboy (White) beat Doora/Barefield 6 – 1. Semi Final - Ennis St Johns beat Corofin/Kilnaboy (Red) 6 – 3 and An Droichead beat Corofin/Kilnaboy (White) 4 – 2. In 3rd/4th playoff, Corofin White team beat their Red team 7 – 2 and in the final An Droichead beat Ennis St Johns by 2 goals 10 – 8.

  1. An Droichead – Aoife Curtin, Rachel Guerin, Caoimhe Hayes, Aoibheann Mc Arthur, Siobhan Mc Mahon, Caoimhe Moloney, Caoimhe Naughton, Emily White- Mc Louglin.
  2. Ennis St Johns – Lexi Bowe, Ava Brigdale, Mia Galvin, Ruth Ikiebey, Chloe Mc Guane, Reia Mounsey, Hannah Saidi, Abbey Walsh.
  3. Corofin/Kilnaboy (White) - Tara Carey, Skyee Concannon, Molly Cox, Caragh Fitzgerald, Eleanor Holmes, Aisling Nagle.
  4. Corofin/Kilnaboy (Red) – Clodagh Carey, Clara Connors, Ava Flanagan, Gwyn Holmes, Hannah Moran, Kate O'Callaghan.


The winners were Ennis St Johns they will now go on to represent Clare in the Munster finals in July. In the preliminary rounds Ennis St Johns beat Corofin/Kilnaboy (Red) 9 – 1 while Doora/Barefield beat Killaloe 5 – 2. In the Quarter Finals Quin/Clooney beat Ballynacally/Lissycasey 5 – 1, Corofin/Kilnaboy (White) beat Lisdoonvarna/Doolin/Kilfenore/Kilshanny (Red) 7 – 1, Ennis St Johns beat Lisdoonvarna/Doolin/Kilfenors/Kilshanny (White) 6 –3 and Doora/Barefield beat Cooraclare/Cree 4 – 0. In the Semi Finals Quin/Clooney beat Corofin/Kilnaboy (White) 5 – 2 and Ennis St Johns beat Doora/Barefield 4 – 0. Corofin/Kilnaboy (White) beat Doora/Barefield for Bronze medals 4 – 3 and in the Finals Ennis St Johns beat Quin/Clooney 4 – 1.
