CLARE COMMUNITY GAMES

Mini Rugby 2015

The munstergroup Insurance Clare Community Games mini rugby competition was held in beautiful Clarisford Park, Killaloe on Sunday 12th April with some superb rugby played. Killaloe V Doora/Barefield (Maroon) was the first game with Killaloe coming out the winners. Newmarket-on-Fergus narrowly lost out to Doora/Barefield (White). Doora/Barefield (Maroon) took on Newmarket-on-Fergus in the first playoff in a very tight competition with Doora/Barefield winning bronze medals in the narrowest of margins.

The final was between Killaloe and Doora/Barefield (White). And what an epic match it was. It was nip and tuck throughout the game with 3 trys each at full time. After extra time it was still a draw with each team scoring an additional try each. With both teams refusing to back down it was down to sudden death with plenty tackles by both teams with neither making a try after 15 minutes there was no winner and both sides agree to replay the final another day.
